What is Blue Nettle tea?
Blue Nettle is a rare and precious tea, crafted entirely by hand in Sri Lanka. Its long, twisted leaves, rolled like small sticks, recall the slow, precise, and meditative work of a craftsman of taste.
Neither quite black tea nor quite oolong, Blue Nettle lies between the two worlds: lightly oxidized , it unfolds a delicate and deep aromatic palette when infused.
Produced using soil-friendly methods, this creation is produced in very limited quantities. Each infusion is an invitation to slow down, to smell, to return to the simple gesture and pure pleasure of tea.
How to use Blue Nettle tea?
Blue Nettle is best enjoyed in a moment of calm and slowness. Its leaves, hand-rolled into thin sticks, slowly unfold during the infusion, gradually revealing their full aromatic richness.
Here's how to get the most out of it:
- Quantity: 1 stick for approximately +/- 1350 ml of water
- Water temperature: 85 to 90°C
- Infusion time: 3 to 4 minutes for the first infusion
This tea can be re-infused up to 3 or 5 times , with a slightly longer infusion time each time.
Use low-mineral water and allow the leaves space to open. Each cup becomes a slow exploration, faithful to the spirit of the gesture and the sensitive universe of Lokayah.
The benefits of Blue Nettle tea
Beyond its visual beauty and rich taste, Blue Nettle is a tea that is profoundly beneficial for the body and mind.

Its whole, minimally processed leaves are rich in antioxidants . They contribute to:
- support slow and peaceful digestion,
- promote circulation and oxygenation of tissues,
